Helping good dogs become great dogs.
Civility began when a childhood passion was given the opportunity to become a career. After dozens of classes, countless education opportunities, and an incredible mentorship, Civility was born a fully-fledged business dedicated to keeping alive the dream: help improve communication between dogs and their handlers.
The training style offered by Civility is called "balance training". This means that our trainer looks at each dog as a unique individual, and rather than generalizing one technique or method to fit all students, instead determines how much praise, motivation, and correction each dog needs in order to thrive and learn. This means a shy, nervous dog would be met with gentle praise and encouragement, while a gregarious, enthusiastic dog would be met with steady guidance and firm boundaries. We treat every dog as a unique case; because every dog is!

Whether your pooch is starting from scratch or just needs a little polish, we'll make a training plan that works for you. If you're only looking for solid obedience commands, you can pick and choose which skills you'd like to focus on. If all you want is Sit and Stay, we'll help make it happen! If your pooch has behavior troubles as well, we'll tailor our approach as needed to make sure your dog gains the skills they need to thrive. From leash reactivity to house-breaking, we've got your back.

Graduation isn't goodbye for Civility graduates! While you and your furry friend are living your best lives, we'll be here to support you through any new or unexpected challenges along the way.

If you've finished the basics and are ready for a challenge, Civility offers a variety of opportunities to test and grow your graduate pooch's skills. Field trips to a variety of locations can offer brand new experiences for you and your pup.
